VISION for Kids Got Rights
Kids Got Rights began with a simple realization: children are constantly spoken about in discussions of rights and well-being, yet their own voices are rarely heard directly.I wanted to create a project that invites young people to speak for themselves and share their experiences of fairness, dignity, and belonging.
Through community storytelling stations, children record their own stories and reflections. These voices form the emotional foundation of the film. Alongside these testimonies, original stop-motion animation created in collaboration with StopMoTreats we explore universal human rights themes inspired by the **United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
By bringing together documentary testimony and handcrafted animation, the film creates a dialogue between lived experience and the ideals of human rights.

The Healing Meadow(No Torture or Cruel Treatment) - We meet Ruby, Winston, and the Heart Stone breaking the cycle of hurt through collective kindness
Opening Scene: In the same magical forest, there's a special meadow called the "Circle of Kindness," where animals gather under the warmth of the Healing Sun—a gentle, golden sun that shines brightest when everyone treats each other with care and respect. The meadow is filled with soft grass, blooming flowers, and a crystal-clear stream. Each animal has a role: bears give warm hugs, deer share encouraging words, butterflies offer gentle touches, and rabbits spread laughter. The Healing Sun's magic is powered by acts of kindness and gentleness.
Inciting Incident: One day, a large wolf named Winston arrives at the meadow, carrying hurt from his past. In his old pack, Winston was treated cruelly—pushed around, mocked, and made to feel worthless. This pain turned into anger, and Winston begins treating others the same way he was treated. He snarls at smaller animals, knocks over their homes, and uses his size to frighten them. The Healing Sun begins to dim, and dark clouds gather over the meadow. The animals feel scared and sad, and the flowers start to wilt.
Journey: A brave young rabbit named Ruby notices that Winston's eyes hold deep sadness beneath the anger. She remembers her grandmother's wisdom: "Hurt creatures hurt others, but gentle hearts can heal even the deepest wounds."
Ruby embarks on a journey to find the "Heart Stone"—a magical crystal that glows with warmth and can help anyone remember what kindness feels like. Along the way, she meets different animals who have also been hurt but chose gentleness:
A wise turtle with a cracked shell who teaches her that scars don't define us—our choices do
A bird with a broken wing who shows her that being vulnerable takes courage
A deer who was once bullied but now protects others, teaching Ruby that breaking the cycle of hurt is the bravest thing anyone can do
Each animal shares their story and adds their own light to the Heart Stone, making it glow brighter with understanding and compassion. Ruby returns with the Heart Stone and rallies all the meadow animals to stand together.
